Trailforks
· v1.4.3
About
Trailforks is the worlds largest mountain biking trail map that now also supports other trail activities such as hiking, moto, skiing and horseback. The Trailforks Garmin app is your companion to the Trailforks website and phone app, for loading routes to your device and giving you route recommendations.
The Trailforks Apps main function is to list routes and allow you to download them as a .FIT file to your Garmin device for use with the native routing engine. The app has three main sections.
1) My Routes
You can login with your Trailforks account to see a list of routes you have sent to your Garmin or added to your wish-list. Routes can be local user created recommended routes, race courses, other uses ridelogs, or a personal ride plan you've created using our ride planner tool.
2) Nearby Routes
This will present you with nearby recommended routes personalized to your riding preferences. If you login and have used the Trailforks ridelog feature, we will analyse your past rides to determine the type of ride you typically do, to help recommend similar type of rides near your current location. You can use this feature even without an account, you can set some ride preferences in the app settings using the Garmin Connect app. Or we will just assume some defaults and show you some nearby popular routes.
3) Browse Top Routes
This section has several lists of curated routes. 'Trailforks Gold' are top routes in our global routes directory. We list IMBA Epic routes separate along with any other nearby routes marked as featured on Trailforks. The last list shows any routes with an upcoming race event, making it easy to find and follow a race course for a practice ride, or on race day.
All lists of routes use our custom list that gives you as much info about the route we can pack into the small screen. Average difficulty, distance, total climb, name and nearby city and state. We also indicate if you've already download the route to your devices local courses folder. Clicking a route from a list gives you more detail before downloading, including a simple GPS track image to preview what the route looks like.
What's new
