About

The app analyzes and tracks your paddling strokes. It is compatible with kayaks, canoes, surfskis, and rowing boats. External sensors are not required. The watch can simply be mounted on the boat to use the app. More info: http://canoeingapp.carpente.es   ■ If you find any problem, please send me an email and I will fix it: [email protected] If you use the app and you like it, please consider supporting my work. I will appreciate your donation so much. It motivates me to keep working on this project. https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=8ZBEY3M2MVMKJ   ■ The app provides the following stroke data during the workout: → Stroke cadence: number of strokes per minute. → Stroke length: how far the boat advances with each stroke. → Stroke counter.   ■ The following data will be available in your Garmin Connect account at the end of the workout: → Stroke cadence at each moment of the workout. → Stroke length at each moment of the workout. → Total number of strokes in the workout. → Total number of strokes in each lap. → Average stroke cadence in each lap. → Average stroke length in each lap.  You can see an example at this link: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/3504570145   ■ More info about how to use the app: http://canoeingapp.carpente.es/en/how-to-use/ ■ App configuration: http://canoeingapp.carpente.es/en/configuration/   ■ How to mount the watch on the boat The watch should be firmly attached to the boat to ensure the proper operation of the app. The watch should not shift or rotate relative to the boat when you paddle. A good place to mount it in a canoe is the crossbar. If you are a kayak paddler, it is advisable to use a watch mount. They are usually attached to the boat with suction cups. It is not recommended to mount the watch to the footrest strap of the surfskis. However, if you do not have a better option, the strap should be tightened as much as possible over your feet.   ■ Watch orientation If the watch is used in a kayak mounted on a watch stand, its orientation is 'vertical'. If the watch is mounted on the crossbar of a canoe, the orientation of the device is 'horizontal'. The default value of this configuration parameter is 'vertical'. So, you may have to change it before starting a workout in a canoe.
