sattiv Nightscout CGM client
· v1.0.6
About
sattiv brings your continuous glucose monitor readings to your wrist, pulled directly from your own self-hosted Nightscout instance — no phone app required once configured.
Features:
- Real-time glucose value in mmol/L, color-coded — green (in range), amber (high), red (low)
- Trend arrow showing rate of change (flat, rising, falling, rapid rise/fall)
- Delta vs. 15 minutes ago
- Choice of two layouts: a 60-minute glucose history plot, or a single large glucose readout — switch anytime in Settings
- Time, date, heart rate, step count, and battery — all in one glanceable face
- Stale readings (over 20 minutes old) are flagged in red so a dropped connection doesn't go unnoticed
- Language setting: English, Kazakh (Cyrillic), or Kazakh (Latin)
- Configurable Nightscout URL and API secret via Garmin Connect app Settings — your credentials never leave your device except to reach your own server
- Runs on the fr970 plus a wide range of other Garmin watches of the same screen sizes — fenix 6/7/8 family, Venu, vívoactive, Forerunner, MARQ, Descent, D2, and more (see the full device list in the Connect IQ Store listing)
Setup: After installing, open this watch face's Settings in Garmin Connect Mobile and enter your Nightscout URL and API secret. Data refreshes automatically in the background every 5 minutes.
All settings, explained:
- Nightscout URL — your Nightscout site's base address (e.g. `https://your-site.herokuapp.com`), no trailing slash needed.
- Nightscout API Secret — your Nightscout API secret; hashed on-device before it's sent, so the plaintext never goes over the network.
- Send secret unhashed (Gluroo) — off by default. Turn on only if you're pulling from a Gluroo Global Connect Nightscout bridge instead of real Nightscout — Gluroo expects the secret as plain text, not hashed, and authentication fails otherwise.
- Show glucose chart — on shows a 60-minute glucose history plot above the current reading; off replaces it with one large single glucose readout.
- Language — English, Kazakh (Cyrillic), or Kazakh (Latin); changes all on-face text (days, months, labels).
- Glucose unit — mmol/L or mg/dL for the displayed value, delta, and chart axis.
- Very low / Low / High / Very high threshold — the mmol/L cutoffs that drive the color coding of the glucose value and chart dots (red/amber/green zones). Adjust to match your own target range.
- Use 12-hour time — switches the clock between 24-hour and 12-hour display.
- Arrow/delta calc — how the trend arrow and delta number are computed: *Fixed interval* compares against a reading from ~15–30 minutes ago; *Nightscout style, computed* (default) derives both from just the last two readings, mirroring how Nightscout itself calculates them; *Nightscout style, device arrow* keeps that same delta but shows the trend arrow exactly as reported by your CGM/uploader, rather than one computed on-device.
