About

**** CAUTION: STILL IN BETA PHASE. PLEASE DOWNLOAD ONLY AFTER READING AND UNDERSTANDING POSSIBLE ISSUES DESCRIBED BELOW. **** This is a simple datafield to show battery level and voltage of paired power meter. It will color code depending on battery level and display the name of power meter if recognized. Notes: - Might improve visual design in the future. Any ideas? - The ANT+ protocol for power meters transmits just these two information and the cumulative operating hours but not the more useful "hours left" in either hours:minutes nor percentage. It might be useful to model battery life and implement such features in the future. - Look-up table of power meter manufacturers and models is incomplete. If it shows an ID number and not the name of the manufacturer and model, pls message me and I will try to make a future version display the name. - When no power meter was detected by the AntPlus class in the ConnectIQ API, the connection status is displayed by the names defined in the API: Searching, closed or dead. - The cover image and screenshots have been created with artificial values in the simulator and do not show actual relationship between battery level and voltage. ************** CAUTION ************** This app uses the AntPlus BikePower and BikePowerListener classes - that were than still new - in order to access the advanced metrics. Unluckily, I only found out later that running two apps using these classes simultaneously may lead to system instabilities. I have posted a bug report and Garmin acknowledged issues on their side but stated that it's complex and require some time to solve. The last I heard was in May; it might or might not have been resolved since then. As I was not yet able to confirm the current situation, AT THIS MOMENT I RECOMMEND NOT USING THIS TOGETHER WITH ANY CIQ APP. If you have run into problems, deleting the apps folder usually helps. You will need a PC/Mac to do that as well as a few other tricks: Long power button press to reset the device if frozen, and booting with pressed lap button to get into mass storage mode. I recommend making a backup of all files on your Garmin to your PC/Mac before experimenting with this app to be on the safe side.
