About

Free during development period. Papercut is a paper diorama on your wrist. Five sheets of cut paper stack into a landscape, ridge behind ridge, each one a little darker than the one in front. The hours are punched clean through the front sheet, so the light behind shows in the holes. It keeps the time of day with you. Leave it on Auto and the scene follows the sun. Blue and green through the day, a warm horizon at dusk, then a lit night scene with the moon riding the arc it actually takes tonight. Pin it to a single hour if you would rather. Nothing is a stored image; every ridge is drawn. Point the light at any of your goals and the scene answers to it. The horizon seam lights left to right as you close on the target, and five stars fill above it. Take the seam, the stars, both, or neither. Progress becomes something you see rather than something you read. Set your own target, or follow the one your watch already keeps. Health and fitness: Heart rate, Resting HR, HR Zone, Body Battery, Stress, Sleep Score, Respiration, SpO2. Training: Recovery Time, VO2 Max (run), VO2 Max (bike), Active minutes (daily), Weekly Intensity, Race 5K, Race 10K, Race Half, Race Marathon. Also: Steps, Floors, Distance, Total Calories, Active Calories, Elevation, Ascent, Descent, Notifications, Battery. Weather: Temperature, Feels Like, Humidity, Dew Point, Precipitation, Wind, Pressure, UV Index, Solar Intensity, Sunrise, Sunset. Four readouts sit around the hours, two beside the clock and two beneath it. Each is free to show whatever you track, in a colour you pick or on Auto to follow the paper. The date line carries the day in as much detail as you want, with your status cues either side of it. Your battery sits quietly at the foot of the dial. Put the clock low over the ridges, or centre it in a cut window with the readouts beneath, at whichever of three sizes reads best for you. That leaves room for a widget below them: a sparkline, a row of bars, or an arc sweeping the bottom rim. Five papers to choose from. Indigo is violet, lilac by day and deep purple at night. Kraft is brown paper and sunlight. Mono strips it to greys. Blossom is soft pink and dusk. Meadow is a green valley under a wide sky. Each one is drawn again for day, for dusk and for night, so the five are really fifteen. On the night paper the sunset seam along the far ridge can burn bright, sit dim, or go out altogether. Then make it yours. Every sheet takes its own colour if you want it to, and any sheet can be set to black, which on an AMOLED watch means those pixels are simply off. The face you end up with need not be one anybody else has. Burn-in-safe always-on display carries the same landscape in outline, with the ridges behind the time and the moon in its place, everything dimmed and shifting to protect the screen. Choose its size and whether it carries the date, the battery, both or neither.
