Endure Pool

Endure Pool streams your swim, live, to the board your coach watches at the poolside. The data field sends heart rate, distance, pace, SWOLF and stroke type to a receiver placed at the end of the lane, over Bluetooth Low Energy. The signal does not travel through water, so the field buffers what you swam and flushes it when you reach the wall. You do not have to do anything during the set. WHAT YOU NEED - An Endure.LabbS account. This app does not work on its own: it talks to your coaching service's infrastructure. - The Endure receiver installed at the poolside. - The athlete code your coach gives you. You set it once, in this app's settings panel inside Garmin Connect. FIRST RUN Until the athlete code is set, the screen shows a QR code. Point your phone camera at it: the page explains what is going on and how to configure it. After that the screen shows your code, heart rate and distance. KNOWN LIMITATIONS - Use only one Endure data field per activity. Two of our fields on the same screen compete for the Bluetooth radio and one of them is starved. - The connection only completes out of the water, at the wall. Staying in scanning mode while you swim is expected behaviour. - This app does not send your location.

Fixes a defect that could shut the data field down when a connection attempt to the poolside receiver did not complete. When that happened the screen froze on the last thing it had drawn, so the field looked like it was still searching when it had already stopped. It now recovers on its own, keeps scanning, and reports the failure on screen instead of going quiet. The screen also asks you to accept the connection on the watch, rather than only saying "connecting". Connect IQ requires you to confirm before a data field may talk to a receiver, and that prompt is easy to miss. Finally, the field now releases a receiver that has dropped before it starts scanning again, so a lost connection no longer leaves the radio waiting on a device that is gone. This matters in the pool, where the link drops on every length.
