ANT+ Power Meter Revival
· v0.4.10
About
ANT+ Power Meter Revival is a Connect IQ data field for displaying ANT bicycle power meter data on supported Garmin watches.
This app is inspired by the original ANT+ Power Meter data field by takura87. That app helped many users display ANT power meter data on Garmin devices, but has not been updated for newer watch models. The main purpose of ANT+ Power Meter Revival is to provide similar ANT power meter display support for newer supported devices.
The data field listens for standard ANT bicycle power meter broadcasts and displays power during an activity. When space allows, it also displays cadence and left/right balance if those values are broadcast by the sensor.
Features:
- Displays cycling power in watts
- Displays cadence from the power meter
- Displays left/right balance when available
- Adaptive layout based on data field size
- Configurable power display: instantaneous, 3-second average, or 10-second average
- Remembers the paired ANT sensor ID
- Optional ANT ID setting for manual pairing
- Re-pair setting for switching power meters
- Records FIT developer fields: Power2, Cadence2, and Balance2
Important notes:
This is a Connect IQ data field, not a full activity app. Add it to a data screen inside a cycling activity profile.
Recorded values are written as FIT developer fields. They are not native Garmin power/cadence sensor recordings. Garmin Connect and third-party platforms may or may not display these custom fields automatically. If you export FIT files to external software, that software must support FIT 2.0 developer fields.
Power meter calibration, firmware updates, and sensor configuration should be handled through your power meter manufacturer’s app or another supported head unit.
Bluetooth power meters are not currently supported.
Supported device list is intentionally small to devices not supported by takura87's app and lacking native power meter support.
App has only had minimal testing at this point due to limited devices I have available.
