About

Use this app to create your own design for the M2 watchface. The forum support thread with more help and info is here: https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/f/showcase/213203/watchface-m2 There is also a version you can run on PC using the Garmin simulator, and it can be found here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!ArQ7iSnpSoQ2sscowpDhRWrTuZzAlA?e=NoUwcR To run the app go to the apps menu on your watch, where the activities are listed (e.g. Strength, Cardio, Hike, Swim, Run etc) and go to the bottom of that list - you will see “M2 Design”. A menu is displayed with the options for customizing the display (showing "global settings" initially), and some arrows indicating which menu directions are available. Use up & down to scroll through the options at the current level. Press the select button to select an option (and go right), or the back button to go back a level (left). When you select a field or an element as the current item it will be highlighted with a rectangle around it. I'm not sure how well the controls will work on the touchscreen watches, but let me know … Once you have created a design, then open the settings for M2 Designer and copy the "profile text". Then go to the settings for M2, paste the text into the top setting, save the settings for M2, and you will see it displayed on the watchface. A guide for accessing the settings is here: https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/w/wiki/14/changing-your-app-settings-in-garmin-express-gcm-ciq-mobile-store. There is no fixed limit on what you can add to the display, apart from how much memory is available. A memory bar will be displayed by default - if that becomes full then you have run out of memory. Be aware that the more you add to the display the more expensive the watchface will be when it is running! - Please post a photo of your design along with the "profile text" in the forum thread here: https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/f/showcase/213203/watchface-m2 as I love seeing what everyone creates and prefers for their style! It will also be useful for others as inspiration :) - Top tips: - To add a status indicator (like an alarm), first add an icon, then set the visibility of the icon, e.g. to "Alarm On". Add a second icon with a different color and "Alarm Off" to have the indicator switch between the two. - Hide the editing menu using a long press of your menu button (left middle button or touchscreen) to get a better view of what you are creating. - And while the menu is hidden, press the select button to cycle between 3 modes which temporarily force invisible items to be shown. - When editing a color, then press the select button to cycle between what is displayed (so it is easier to see). - In the Global Settings you can customise some useful colors (like the background, menu and highlighting). - Changing the menu color depending on the colors in your watchface can really help make it stand out. - Changing the foreground color (in Global Settings) will change the color of all items that use it (useful for changing between a black or white background). - If you display all 5 memory bars, then they show limits for these: profile text length, number of items, displayed text length, number of fonts, font memory.

Or post in the support thread here: https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/f/showcase/213203/watchface-m2 ---- Version 0.2.5 - Updated for new devices (including Forerunner 255) ---- Version 0.2.4 - Fix for Fenix 7 series ---- Version 0.2.3 - Added support for Fenix 7s, 7, 7x (hopefully ....) ---- Version 0.2.1 - Added support for Enduro - Loading a non-existent profile now sets the profile text to an empty string ---- Version 0.2.0 - Renamed the Rect field to Dial, and gave it 4 different display styles: rectangle, arc, circle, hand - Added text elements for "minutes to next sunrise/sunset event" and "minutes to next dawn/dusk event" ---- Version 0.1.29 - Added "steps count (k)" and "steps goal (k)" which will display 1203 steps as 1.2 (so in thousands) - Added HR option to the big font ---- Version 0.1.28 - CIQ 3.2.3 = support for 745 and Descent Mk2 ---- Version 0.1.27 - Added "Body Weight" to the Value elements section (it displays in either Kg or Pounds depending on your watch system settings) ---- Version 0.1.26 - Added element & field visibility options for current activity status (e.g. if you use your watchface while an activity is running) - so you can indicate if an activity is on, paused or stopped (or not active at all). - CIQ SDK 3.2.2 ---- Version 0.1.24 - The "no limit" ring option works for partial arcs now, so the ring doesn't need to be a full circle. So if you use a partial arc to display steps, floors, or intensity and go past 100% of your goal, it can now indicate how far past the goal you are. ---- Version 0.1.23 - Added visibility options (for fields & elements) based on steps completed of your daily goal (0-25%, 25-50%, 50-75%, 75-100%, 100%+) - Added a visibility option for walking and not walking. (Walking counts as 30 steps/min for at least 2 minutes) ---- Version 0.1.22 - CIQ SDK 3.1.9 ---- Version 0.1.21 - Added the option for individual letters and numbers as elements of fields, allowing you to display any custom words or text. - Menu options for faster positioning of fields & rectangles. When you select "Position", as well as "x" and "y" there are now options for "x (10)" and "y (10)" - these move the position of the field/rectangle by 10 pixel increments. Also similar options for changing the width & height of rectangles.
