Moonkey

Moonkey is an open-source analog watch face for AMOLED Garmin watches built around a real image of the Moon. It's shaded for tonight's phase and rotated to the inclination the Moon actually shows in your sky: the terminator tilts for your latitude and the time of night. A thin ring around the disc traces its time above the horizon, moonrise to moonset. A 24-hour day/night ring surrounds it (midnight up, noon down): an amber arc for daylight from your local sunrise to sunset, a current-time pointer, a sun ring that brightens toward midday, and optional markers pointing out south and north. Data fields you choose ring the dial: heart rate, steps, calories, body battery, intensity, floors, altitude and more, plus weather (icon, temperature, precipitation-chance bar, wind barb), date, time, and a second-timezone clock. Customize using Garmin Connect: - Accent and data colours, and the moon-arc colour (or hidden) - Central image: moon, cat, fox, polar bear or seal (all phase-shaded) - Brushed-metal hands, a second-tick track, south/north markers, the radial gradient, and per-field small fonts - A world timezone with automatic daylight saving - Seven fields, each a complication, hidden, or a special mode: Persian Solar date + Tehran clock, weather, date + weekday, steps + heart rate, or custom text Everything is computed on the watch (no internet) and tracks published almanacs to within a few minutes.
