Sugar Sense - CGM Glucose Libre Dexcom Nightscout
· v1.3.0
About
Sugar Sense shows your CGM glucose on your Garmin watch: current blood sugar value, trend arrow and a trend graph, straight from FreeStyle Libre, Dexcom or Nightscout, with no phone in your hand. It is a Connect IQ glucose widget for people with type 1 or type 2 diabetes on a continuous glucose monitor, including runners and cyclists training with glucose on the wrist.
WORKS WITH YOUR CGM
- FreeStyle Libre 2, Libre 2 Plus, Libre 3 and Libre 3 Plus via LibreLinkUp sharing
- Dexcom G6, G7 and ONE+ via Dexcom Share (any Dexcom app with the Share feature turned on)
- Nightscout sites, so any CGM that uploads to Nightscout works
WHAT YOU GET
- Glance: glucose value, trend arrow, reading age, a mini trend line and the change since the last reading where it fits
- Full view: large zone colored reading, trend arrow, age, the change where it fits, unit and a trend graph over a window you pick, 1 to 24 hours, with your high and low guide lines
- Settings in the Garmin Connect app: graph window, show change, show reading age. The graph window is in the watch menu too.
- Background refresh every 5 minutes
- Glucose complication for Connect IQ watch faces that support complications. It mirrors the widget and can lag when the watch stops syncing. Garmin's built-in watch faces do not show third-party complications.
- mg/dL or mmol/L, following your Sugar Sense account settings
- Zone colors: green in range, amber warning, red alert
- Values older than 15 minutes grey out, so stale data never looks live
- Runs on more than 140 Garmin devices: Forerunner, Fenix, Epix, Venu, Vivoactive, Instinct, MARQ and Edge computers
SETUP IN ABOUT A MINUTE
Open the app on the watch and a short code appears. Enter it in the Sugar Sense phone app (Settings, Integrations, Garmin Watch), or sign in at https://app.sugarsense.io/garmin in any browser. You never type credentials on the watch.

What's new
This update brings two releases in one.
Care Circle follower mode: if you follow someone in Sugar Sense, the watch shows their glucose with their name, on the glance and in the full view. The glance also gained the trend arrow.
New in 1.3.0:
Reading age and the change since the last reading, on the glance and in the full view.
A graph window you choose, 1 to 24 hours, from the widget menu or from the Garmin Connect app, where you can also show or hide the change and the age.
Faster refresh: the watch snaps its next update to your own reading cadence.
A Glucose complication for Connect IQ watch faces that support complications, with your value, your trend arrow, and the name of the person you follow. Garmin's built-in watch faces do not show third-party complications. This update asks for the Complication Publisher permission so your glucose can be published to watch faces.
If you follow more than one person, the watch menu gains Person, so you pick whose glucose shows. Default keeps the person Sugar Sense picks, and if that person's sharing is revoked, the watch goes back to the default on its own.
Correct rendering on the 1-bit Instinct displays.
The watch stays a display: alerts stay on your phone.
