Datafield showing the offset in altitude from the start of an activity in metres or feet depending on system settings. Before the start of the activity it displays actual altitude.

To get the best results wait for a good fix before starting the activity. There is no smoothing or filtering applied to the data so the display can be quite jumpy depending on the quality of the data supplied by the device.
If you stop and then restart an activity it will continue to work of the original start altitude. If however you stop the activity, select 'resume later' and then at some later point in time restart the same activity it will display the altitude offset from the location the activity was restarted.
