When you raise your wrist, a full-screen Northern Lights scene comes to life. Gentle camera movements glide across the night sky, slowly zooming into the glowing green and violet colors and back out again. The aurora feels alive without becoming distracting. When your arm is lowered, Polar Light uses Garmin’s low-power mode. The animation disappears and the watch shows only the time and date on a deep black, minimal screen. This helps protect the battery and AMOLED display while remaining easy to read at a glance. The time, date and hands use a subtle shadow so they remain clearly visible even over the brighter parts of the aurora. Polar Light was designed specifically for round Garmin AMOLED displays. The animation is rendered directly on the watch in full resolution and uses the entire watch face.
