Everything unlocks permanently on your device — no subscription, ever. HOW TO UNLOCK PREMIUM: 1. In Beer Counter settings (Garmin Connect app), turn on "Show Device ID". Start any activity — your watch shows an 8-digit Device ID. Note it down. 2. Send min. €2 via PayPal (Friends & Family) to: [email protected] Write your 8-digit Device ID in the payment note (it's required to create your personal code). 3. You'll receive your 6-digit unlock code as a reply to your PayPal message, usually within 24 hours. 4. Back in settings, turn off "Show Device ID" and enter the code in "Premium Code". Tap isn't available on every watch: you can also pick which screen to show from the settings, or turn on the automatic carousel to rotate through them. • Automatic carousel — let the field cycle through your screens on its own, every few seconds of your choosing. • Live consumption — see how fast you're earning beers right now, per minute or per kilometre / mile. • Kilometres or miles — beers per distance automatically follows your watch's unit setting. • Consumption graph — after your activity, Garmin Connect shows a graph of your beer consumption over the whole workout. • Activity summary — your average beers per minute and per distance are saved with the activity. • Clearer descriptions for every setting. • New device support — now available on Forerunner 70, Forerunner 170, Forerunner 170 Music, and D2 Mach 2 Pro. • Since version 2.2.0 the app has been built with Garmin's new SDK 9.2.0. This introduced a change to a function used to verify the premium unlock code. If you experience issues with that version, please update to version 2.2.1, which fixes the problem and makes the unlock code used up to version 2.1.1 work again. ## [2.1.1] — 2026-04-23 Performance improvements,bugfix ## [2.1.0] — 2026-04-23 Improved active calories calculation — Active calories are now computed by subtracting resting calories from the total, using the same formula Garmin uses internally, based on your user profile (age, weight, height, gender). Results match Garmin Connect reported values (verified within ±1 kcal). For this reason the app now requests access to your Garmin user profile: the data is read locally on the watch and is never transmitted or shared in any way. Fix: license activation code — A bug caused some devices to display the same ID (00000000), preventing unique activation codes from being generated. This is now fixed. Note: previously issued license codes are no longer valid contact via email for a free replacement code.
