About

Ebike Field can connect directly to E-bikes with ANT support and show state of battery charge and assist mode level. App is fully usable for free, donators will additionally get rendering graphs with ebike metrics to Garmin Connect. Please read whole description before use. For newer EDGE devices, please make sure you disconnect eBike sensor in Garmin settings first as it can't be used together with Ebike Field - only one will have connectivity due to limitation on Garmin side, so you have to decide which want you want to use. ---- BIKE COMPATIBILITY: All with ANT+ LEV or Steps ANT connectivity. Reported are: - Specialized Turbo Levo, Kenevo - Specialized Creo (from 2019) - Orbea Rise - Canyon Spectral :ON - Giant ebikes with 2020 RideControlOne unit - Rocky Mountain Powerplay with iWOC 3.0 controller - Orbea with EbikeMotion 2020 revision D - Wilier Cento10 - and lot more.. (test connectivity with your bike before donation!) Let me know about others! DATAFIELD: As separate datafields can’t connect to one bike or share data from it, I merged both battery state and assist mode values into one datafield. Optionally you can select which value to show alone in app settings via Garmin Connect IQ app (data on screen do not affect graphs in Garmin Connect). PAIRING WITH EBIKE: To pair ebike with datafield, just keep Garmin device with active datafield near the turned-on bike until it starts to show battery level of bike. This should take few seconds. After that datafield will save ID of bike so it will not pick other bikes later. In case you want to pair datafield with new bike or battery, go to app configuration via Garmin Connect IQ app and set 0 to DeviceID field. If your Garmin supports connection to Ebike via Sensors menu, you must disconnect it from there, otherwise Ebike Field will not be able to connect to the bike (it has implemented its own connectivity). INSTALLATION: - After download, you must go into the activity where you want to use this datafield and configure it to you preferred screen. You will find it under Connect IQ list. If you have any issues, please contact me via link "Contact Developer". PREMIUM FUNCTIONS: If you donate to development of the app (http://ebikeapp.jancapek.cz/), following features will be unlocked for you: - the app will render additional graphs to Garmin Connect activity which will show battery state of charge and used assist mode for every moment of your ride. This is really useful for evaluating your battery consumption during your rides. - Ebike Field can be paired with more ebikes/batteries, so it is not needed to go to settings after battery/bike swap. Put first ID to first settings field and rest to last one. You can see IDs after auto-pair in the settings. Please note that app tries to find devices one by one - so for example third device is started to be searched after about 40 seconds after activity app was launched. In case you will decide to support my development, I will in return send you PIN code to unlock Premium function. You can support me on this URL: http://ebikeapp.jancapek.cz/ FAQ: - Connect IQ app don't want to save new settings because blank email field. Yep, know the issue and will solve it somehow in next version. Before that please fill any "valid" mail, then it will work. Don't worry app is not collecting these mails - only used for PIN verifications. - Are range-extenders supported? Every bike reports main battery status differently when using range-extenders. Ebike Field will just show this number. It doesn't support now to show separate state of charges for main and extender batteries. - Don't get correct assist mode names on the screen? Check app settings and customise them to your liking! - Don't have paypal but still want donate? No problem, use paypal button anyway on my site anyway, you can pay by card without need to have paypal at all.
