BRM Pacer – Audax Brevet Timer
· v1.1
About
BRM Pacer is a Connect IQ data field built for Audax cyclists riding ACP-homologated brevets (Brevets Randonneurs Mondiaux) — from a 200 km qualifier all the way up to Paris-Brest-Paris (1200 km).
Instead of just showing elapsed time, BRM Pacer continuously tells you whether you're on schedule to finish within the official ACP time limit for your distance:
• 200 km – 13h30
• 300 km – 20h00
• 400 km – 27h00
• 600 km – 40h00
• 1000 km – 75h00
• 1200 km – 90h00 (Paris-Brest-Paris)
HOW IT WORKS
The field compares the fraction of distance you've covered against the fraction of your time limit used — not your instantaneous speed. This makes it robust through control stops, meals, and sleep breaks: a long stop at a control doesn't falsely flag you as "behind," and the ACP clock (which never pauses) keeps running accurately in the background even while your Edge is auto-paused.
ON-DEVICE DISTANCE SELECTION
On touchscreen Edge models, simply tap the field before starting to cycle through the standard BRM distances (200/300/400/600/1000/1200 km) — no need to dig through the Garmin Connect Mobile app. The choice locks automatically once you press Start, so it can't be changed by accident mid-ride.
DISPLAY
• Brevet distance
• Time remaining before the ACP cutoff, color-coded (green = on schedule, red = behind or over time)
• Status: ON TIME / BEHIND SCHEDULE / TIME LIMIT EXCEEDED / FINISHED
Whether you're training for your first 200 km brevet or chasing a Paris-Brest-Paris finish, BRM Pacer keeps the barème visible at a glance so you can manage your effort, control stops, and sleep breaks without doing the math yourself.
Built for Audax / Randonneur cycling — ACP, RUSA, and other national randonneuring clubs that follow the ACP time limits.
What's new
- Countdown now driven by real wall-clock time, matching how the ACP time limit actually works (it never pauses, even at a control stop or during sleep).
- Removed the "target speed to finish" line: real brevet distances aren't exact (a 200 can run to 220 km, a 300 to 320 km...), so a precise speed target was misleading.
- Bigger, clearer header on full-screen layouts.
- Added support for 6 more Edge models (850, 1050, 1030, 1030 Bontrager, 550, MTB); dropped older models that can't run the app (130, 520, 520 Plus, 820, 1000, Explore).
