WatchShelf - Audiobookshelf on your watch
· v0.1
About
SETUP: https://github.com/JediBrooker/WatchShelf/blob/main/sidecar/GETTING_STARTED.md
WatchShelf brings your own Audiobookshelf library to your Garmin watch. Browse your books on your wrist, download them straight to the watch, and listen offline with your phone left at home.
IMPORTANT — this app requires self-hosting: you need your own Audiobookshelf server, plus the free WatchShelf companion "sidecar" running alongside it (a one-time Docker setup), and a music-capable Garmin watch. Without your own Audiobookshelf server and the sidecar, WatchShelf has nothing to connect to — it is not a standalone app.
What it does:
* browse your library by all books, author, series, or collection;
* download whole books to the watch for fully offline playback, so once a book is on your watch, listening needs no phone and no connection;
* a native audio player with chapter navigation and 30-second skip;
* pick up right where you left off, with two-way progress sync that keeps your position in step across your watch, phone, and other Audiobookshelf apps;
* per-book controls to Resume, Play from start, or delete from the watch;
* and on-watch login, with no phone-side setup.
To get started, point WatchShelf at your sidecar's URL and sign in with your Audiobookshelf account — full setup instructions at https://github.com/JediBrooker/WatchShelf/blob/main/sidecar/GETTING_STARTED.md
WatchShelf is an unofficial, independent project and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Audiobookshelf or Garmin.
