FlareRT+Control

About
A simple data field for Bontrager Flare RT users. Check the current light mode and battery level, and tap to switch modes.
Anyone riding with a Bontrager Flare RT?
I made FlareRT+Control for my own cycling setup with a Garmin Venu 3 and a Bontrager Flare RT rear light. It is just a simple data field, but after using it for a while, I found it surprisingly handy. So I decided to share it on Connect IQ.
FlareRT+Control shows the current light mode and a simple 5-level battery gauge for the Flare RT.
You can also tap the data field to switch the light mode in this order:
OFF - Day Flash 90 lm - All-Day Flash 45 lm - Night Flash - OFF
This data field is made specifically for the Bontrager Flare RT.
Please keep in mind that this was originally made for personal use. I only tested it with my own Garmin Venu 3 and Flare RT, so I cannot promise it will work perfectly in every setup. If it works for you, great. If it does not, please think of it as one of those “worth a try” little tools.
If you need more advanced bike light features, or if this does not work well with your setup, you may want to check out other Connect IQ data fields such as Smart Bike Lights. Smart Bike Lights is also a really great app.
How To Use
First, pair your Bontrager Flare RT with your Garmin watch as an ANT+ bike light.
Then add FlareRT+Control to the data screen of the workout/activity where you want to use it.
FlareRT+Control accesses the paired “taillight” device from the watch. If you have more than one taillight paired with your Garmin watch, it may not work as expected.
Again, this is a personal-use project that I decided to share. I do not know how well it will work in every environment, but feedback is welcome and may help guide future fixes or improvements.
