BP Ready – Blood Pressure Log with Rest Check

The problem: Before measuring your blood pressure, you should sit quietly for a few minutes. If you measure immediately after climbing stairs, during stress, or while rushing, the result may temporarily be too high. But how do you know when you are truly calm enough? BP Ready helps you use your Garmin watch to find a suitable calm moment for the measurement. The app monitors your wrist-based heart rate. As your body becomes calmer, your pulse will generally become slower and more consistent. After measuring your blood pressure, enter the systolic and diastolic values directly on your watch. The average pulse recorded during the resting phase is added automatically. You can then view your readings on your smartphone as a table and chart, download them as a CSV file, or import them into Garmin Connect using a FIT file. How it works 1. Settle down After starting the app, a 90-second countdown begins in the style of a classic film countdown. Sit down, breathe calmly, and move as little as possible. 2. Watch your pulse The watch displays your heartbeat as a moving line. When you are restless, the line fluctuates more strongly. As your pulse becomes calmer, the line stabilizes. 3. Recognize the right moment Once your pulse has remained calm and consistent for long enough, a large green check mark appears. A short sound and vibration let you know that it is now a suitable time to measure your blood pressure. If your pulse does not become completely calm, BP Ready will not prevent you from continuing. You can still proceed as long as you are sitting quietly and moving as little as possible. 4. Enter your readings Measure your blood pressure using a suitable blood pressure monitor. Enter the systolic and diastolic values on your Garmin watch. The average resting pulse is saved automatically. 5. Save and analyze your readings BP Ready is purchased once through the Garmin Connect IQ Store. There is no subscription and there are no recurring charges. No additional activation through an external payment provider is required. When your watch and smartphone are connected and BP Ready is running, new readings are transferred automatically. You can open your personal analysis and export page on your smartphone directly from the watch. There you will find: • a table containing your readings • a chart showing your blood pressure history • a CSV download, for example for use with Excel • a Garmin FIT download • a direct link for importing the data into Garmin Connect The FIT file contains the date and time, systolic and diastolic values, and pulse. Garmin only permits these values to be written directly by its own blood pressure monitor. Therefore, one small additional step is required: Download the FIT file and import it into Garmin Connect using the provided link. This only takes a moment. Your readings will then be available in the Garmin system. No user account required Your Garmin watch acts as your personal key. You do not need a user account, password, or email address. Your data is linked to your watch key rather than your name, email address, or Garmin account. The analysis and export page can only be accessed through a link generated by the watch that remains valid for 15 minutes. The stored information consists of the date and time, systolic value, diastolic value, and average resting pulse. The app collects anonymous usage statistics such as installations, app launches, and the start of a resting phase. It does not transmit continuous heart-rate data, GPS data, personal information, or Garmin account information. Important BP Ready does not measure blood pressure and does not replace a blood pressure monitor. The app is not a medical device and does not provide diagnoses.
