About

The problem: Before measuring your blood pressure, you should sit quietly for a few minutes. If you measure immediately after climbing stairs, while stressed or in a hurry, the result may be temporarily too high. But how do you know when you are truly calm enough? The app helps you find a suitable calm moment for measuring your blood pressure using your Garmin watch. It uses the continuous heart rate measurement at your wrist. As your body relaxes, your heart rate usually becomes slower and more regular. This is how it works – in three steps: 1. Calm down After starting the app, a countdown appears in the style of a classic film leader. For 90 seconds, simply sit down, breathe calmly and move as little as possible. 2. Observe your heart rate The watch then displays your heartbeat as a moving line. When you are restless, the line fluctuates more strongly. As your heart rate becomes calmer and more regular, the line also becomes steadier. 3. The right moment Once your heart rate has remained sufficiently calm and regular for a certain period, a large green check mark appears. A short sound and vibration also let you know: Now is a good moment to measure your blood pressure. 4. Save and analyse your readings The permanent storage of your blood pressure readings can optionally be unlocked for a one-time payment of 3,99 €. The readings are presented as charts and in a clear table. They can also be exported as a CSV file, for example for use in Excel, or as a FIT file for import into Garmin. Your Garmin watch serves as your personal key. No user account is required, and the stored readings are not linked to any person, email address or Garmin account information. This keeps the service anonymous and particularly secure. If your heart rate does not fully settle on a particular day, the app does not prevent you from measuring. Instead, it tells you that you can still take the measurement as long as you sit quietly and move as little as possible. Important: The app does not measure blood pressure and does not replace a blood pressure monitor. It is not a medical device and does not provide a diagnosis. Its sole purpose is to help you achieve the calmest possible starting condition before taking a measurement. The actual blood pressure measurement must still be performed using a suitable blood pressure monitor. The app is currently in beta. Please report errors, unusual behaviour and suggestions for improvement to: [email protected] The app collects anonymous usage statistics such as installations, app launches and the start of a resting phase. No heart rate data, GPS data, personal data or Garmin account information is transmitted. In short: The app helps you pause for a moment, calm down and only then begin measuring your blood pressure.
