About
Widget to display your location and your what3words. https://what3words.com/
This widget is primarily aimed at people from Great Britain as it displays the location in the British National Grid format as well as the English what3words.
Note that the words are only shown if internet connectivity is available via bluetooth connection to a phone. IQ apps cannot access the internet over LTE so even if you have a newer inReach device, you will require a phone if you want the what3words. This is a Garmin, not an app restriction. If internet connectivity is not available, you will only see the location in British National Grid format, or in Lat/Lon format if outside of Great Britain.
To obtain the current location, tap or press the start/stop/select/enter button on the top right of the watch. You will need to wait for a GPS lock to be obtained so this is unlikely to work inside a building.
The widget will display the last location obtained on startup along with the time this was obtained. If the words were not available when the location was obtained, they will be fetched upon startup if available. "No Location" indicates the app has never been used just obtain the current location described above.
Some people have commented that the app is pointless as it requires you to have your phone with you. The purpose of the app is to provide your location and give you the what3words without having to dig your phone out of your pocket or backpack.
