About

A colony grows across the dial over twelve hours. Each waystone it reaches fills solid, and filled stones are hours. LICHEN tells time by growth instead of rotation. A branching colony creeps outward from a seed point, crossing the dial over twelve hours. Twelve waystones are scattered across its path. As the colony reaches each one, that stone fills solid, so the count of filled stones is the hour and the creeping tip between stones is the minutes. At the end of the cycle the colony burns back and begins again. Two species are included, a radial fern and a drunken lattice, each with its own growth pattern. You also choose which body signal disturbs the branches: stress, heart rate, or Body Battery. When that signal runs high the branches grow jagged and forked; when you are calm they run smooth and straight. The face is a slow record of the kind of day you are having. The always on frame shows only the waystones and a single dot marking progress toward the next. Settings are available directly on the watch through the face's own menu, and also in the Garmin Connect phone app under Connect IQ Apps, Watch Faces. Free, with no advertising and no data collection. SUPPORT This watch face is free, with no account, no subscription and no ads, and it stays that way. What's new

Version 1.1 adds an on-watch settings menu, so the face can be configured directly on the watch without the phone app.
