Bloom Noir
· v1.4
About
Bloom Noir is a floral watch face for round AMOLED Garmin watches. The artwork
runs full bleed behind the dial, with textured blooms in the margins and deep
black through the middle where the time sits. Hours are ivory and minutes use
your accent colour. Below the clock, a joined signature line and three thin
rings hold the numbers you actually check.
ON THE DIAL
- Day of week and date, set in wide small caps
- Current temperature and conditions, cascading down the upper right
- The time, with tabular figures
- A handwritten "A Brighter You" line, or your own phrase in small capitals
- Three complication rings with an icon, value and range-aware progress arc,
plus a caption on larger watches
- An optional two-line message at the bottom, blank until you write one
WHAT YOU CAN CHANGE
- Accent colour: blush, rose gold, champagne, dusty rose, ivory, blue, light
green, lavender or peach, each with textured floral artwork, or a new one
every week
- Text size: standard, large or extra large, for the date, temperature,
complication values and captions
- Each of the three complications, independently
- The perimeter progress bar: off, mirroring a ring, or its own source
- 12 or 24 hour time, or follow the watch
- Show or hide the phrase, weather block and bottom message
- Background brightness, to sink the florals further into the black
- Seconds, while your wrist is raised
COMPLICATIONS
On watches with Garmin's native face editor, each ring uses Garmin's live,
device-aware picker: every compatible native source, plus complications
published by installed Connect IQ apps, with the source's own short label,
value, unit and icon. A ring fills against your own goal where you have one,
and against 0 to 100 for battery, Body Battery, stress and Pulse Ox. Heart rate
and other sources with no meaningful scale keep a clean empty ring.
Watches without that editor set their rings in Garmin Connect instead, from
every native Garmin complication type.
Press and hold any ring, the weather block, the date or the perimeter bar to
open the app behind that number.
PERIMETER BAR
An optional arc around the edge of the dial, filling clockwise from twelve in
your accent colour. It ships switched off. Point it at any of the three rings
and it carries that ring's source, a Connect IQ complication included, or give
it a source of its own and leave all three rings free for something else. Only
metrics with a real scale are offered.
The bar is not drawn in always-on mode. A lit circle held for hours at the
fixed edge of an OLED panel is exactly what burns one in.
ALWAYS ON
In always-on mode Bloom Noir drops the artwork entirely and shows the time in a
dim accent with the date beneath it, on true black. That is under 1.9% of the
panel lit, and the block drifts two pixels on a slow cycle so nothing burns in.
Seconds appear while your wrist is raised. On an AMOLED watch the system
controls the always-on refresh, so no watch face can tick seconds there.
SUPPORTED WATCHES

On watches with Garmin's native face editor, complication choices live in the
watch face's Data settings on the watch.
What's new
Four new accent colours have joined the palette: blue, light green, lavender
and peach. Each has matching floral artwork with the same petal texture, edge
depth and quiet black centre as the original backgrounds.
The accent colour can now rotate weekly. Choose Rotate weekly and Bloom moves
to the next colour, with its matching floral background, at the start of each
week, following the first day of the week set on your watch.
Text size is now a setting. Large and Extra large enlarge the date,
temperature, complication values and small captions. On smaller watches text
starts at Large.
The bottom message is now empty out of the box. Write one in settings to show
it.
A progress bar can now run around the edge of the dial. It is off until you
switch it on, and you choose what fills it: any of the three rings, or steps,
battery, Body Battery, intensity minutes, floors, stress or Pulse Ox directly.
Press and hold the rim to open the app behind it.
