GlobalSync-Lite is the version of the GlobalSync watchface for Connect IQ 1.4 watches. It is the easiest to read and use worldtimer ever, providing capabilities not even available in conventional worldtimer watches that cost $thousands. Directly read the time in any of the principal 24 time zones, with no manual calculation, buttons to push or bezel to turn, and none of the text appears upside down. How do I set the "DST mode for 24 time zones" setting? A. This is set with a 24 character value consisting of 0's 1's or A's for each of the 24 principal time zones in the order of the list given above. 0 is for daylight savings off 1 is for daylight savings on and A is for automatic changeover (PRO version only). When the northern hemisphere is in the summer months the setting will be 111000000000000111110001. When the northern hemisphere is in the winter months, the setting will be 000000000010100000000000. The exact changeover dates/times are different for each time zone and can be looked up on timeanddate.com. For the PRO version you can set all zones to automatic i.e.: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, and the changeover will be made automatically on the correct date/time. Q. What happens when my local time zone is not the same as time zone in the representative city? For example Halifax Canada is a UTC-4 time zone but is different from the Venezuelan time zone where the representative city Caracas is in. DST is observed in the Atlantic time zone whereas DST is not observed in Venezuela. A. The (highlighted) hour indication will always be the hour of the timezone containing the representative city (with the exception of UTC+13 and UTC+14 cases). In such a case where DST observance is different between your local timezone and the corresponding representative city timezone on the dial may be 1 hour offset from the the local time hour. To correct this set the DST mode for the corresponding representative city time zone to follow DST observance in your local time zone. You just have to note that the hour indication will now be for your local time zone and not that of the marked representative city. Q. What happens when my local timezone has a 30-minute UTC offset? (e.g. India, or South Australia) A. GlobalSync-Lite handles this fine. The hour indicators for the 24 time zones will change at 30 minutes on the hour. The highlighted local time zone on the hour indications will be in between the 2 adjacent time zones.
