Task Ahead

Task Ahead keeps your to-do list on your wrist. Use it completely on its own, or connect a Todoist account to sync — you choose on first launch, and you can switch any time. **Two ways to use it** - On this watch: create and manage tasks with no account and no phone needed - With Todoist: sign in and your Todoist tasks, projects, and sections sync to the watch **See what matters now** - Home leads with a Today card: how many tasks are due, how many are overdue - Today, Upcoming (next ~90 days) and any project — grouped by date, priority, label, deadline or section, per view or app-wide - All overdue tasks collect under a single red "Overdue" header - Glance widget: what's due today, what's overdue, and your next due time — launch it to jump straight to Today - Two lines per task: the name, plus only the details the screen isn't already showing you - Your list stays readable when the phone is out of range, with a small Offline or Syncing status pill **Get things done from the wrist** - Tap a task's circle to complete it straight from the list - Reschedule in two taps: Today, Tomorrow, In 1 week, an exact date and time, or clear the due date. Options that wouldn't change anything aren't offered, and your time of day is kept - Repeating tasks are never changed behind your back — the app asks first - Open a task for its full name, due date, project and priority, with Reschedule and Complete side by side and Actions for the rest - Quick Add captures a task from just its name, using the current view's project and due date - Add, edit, move and delete, with due date and time, deadline, priority, project, section and label - Everything works with the buttons as well as the touchscreen **Reminders** Set a reminder on an on-watch task and Task Ahead buzzes your wrist when it's due — no phone and no account needed. Reminders need a newer Garmin watch (Connect IQ 5.1 or later). On older models every other feature works exactly as described and no reminder options are shown, so nothing appears that your watch can't do. **About the permissions** Task Ahead asks for background and notification permission so a reminder can reach you when the app isn't open. That is the only thing either permission is used for. The app is built to be quiet. There is no polling, no periodic sync and no timer running in the background: it books a single wake-up for your next reminder and nothing else, so a day with no reminders means no background activity at all. In Todoist mode it contacts Todoist only while you're actually using it, in small paged requests, with projects and sections cached between sessions. Nothing is collected, tracked, or sent anywhere except Todoist. **Make it yours — hold MENU** - App settings: five font sizes, default grouping, Quick Add project, reorder/show/hide views, switch data source, Todoist sign-in - Any view: override just that view's grouping without changing the app default, refresh it, reorder its sections - Any project: rename, favourite, or (on-watch) delete - Favourite views pin to the top of the home list; hide the rest **Using Todoist (optional)** Get your API token from Todoist: Settings → Integrations → Developer. The easiest way to sign in is to paste it into the Connect IQ phone app (My Device → Task Ahead → Settings) — the watch picks it up automatically, with no typing. You can also type it on the watch, or log in with your Todoist account (OAuth) from the sign-in screen. Switch data source, switch sign-in method or log out any time from the app's settings. Todoist mode needs a Todoist account (the free plan works) and a paired phone with the Garmin Connect app and an internet connection. On-watch mode needs neither.
