SkiTour+
· v0.3
About
SkiTour+ is a single full-screen data field built for ski touring, backcountry skiing, hiking and mountaineering — designed for modern AMOLED watches and fully configurable.
WHAT IT SHOWS (you choose what goes where):
• Vertical speed — the key skinning metric, huge on top, with
direction arrow and climb/descend colors; smoothed over a 30 s
window so the number never jumps around
• Heart rate colored by your HR zones
• Total ascent (D+) and descent (D-)
• Altitude, speed, distance, calories
• Timer and elapsed time (keeps running during pauses)
• Average ascent rate of the whole tour
• Summit target: remaining climb + progress bar (set summit altitude
in settings)
• Waypoint: distance and a live direction arrow that points at your
waypoint relative to your heading (up = on course)
• GPS position — readable at a glance, useful in emergencies
• Fixed status row: time of day, battery, GPS signal quality
EVERYTHING CONFIGURABLE
8 positions on screen, 15 metrics to choose from, configured in the Garmin Connect app in seconds. Units follow your watch (or force metric/statute). English and Czech settings.
Background: Auto / Black / White — the daylight palette stays readable in full sun. Screen density: 8 fields, or 6 large ones.
Tip: after entering a summit altitude or waypoint coordinates, also
assign the Summit / Waypoint metric to one of the positions - metrics never replace your layout on their own.
DESIGNED FOR YOUR BATTERY
Black background by default (fewer lit pixels on AMOLED), native and
vector fonts only, no background processes, no phone connection needed.
Everything works fully offline.
FITS ANY SCREEN LAYOUT
Full-screen shows all 8 fields; half-screen and small layouts
automatically show the most important ones.
Permissions: User Profile (reads your heart rate zones for the HR
color coding) and Location & Tracking (reads the activity's GPS
position for the GPS and waypoint metrics). No data leaves your watch.
What's new
2026-07-14 v0.3 - New "Summit Stack" layout: vertical
speed on top, much bigger digits everywhere (one shared digit typeface),
inline units instead of label rows, the whole screen width used. New
settings: background Auto/Black/White with a daylight palette, and
screen density (8 fields / 6 large fields). Vertical speed rebuilt:
median prefilter + regression over the full 30 s window + smoothing,
deadband and hysteresis — no more +/− flicker, 5 m/h steps. Waypoint
reworked: big distance digits with a direction arrow that points at
your waypoint relative to your heading (up = on course) — and it now
fits any field position. Fixed and polished 2-field activity layouts
(bottom-half fields used to collide; digits are bigger now). Focused on
large round AMOLED watches for now; more models return in waves.
2026-07-12 v.01 - Summit target with progress bar, waypoint distance + bearing,
GPS position, elapsed time, average ascent rate, units override,
smarter vertical speed (real-time window, altimeter-step protection),
layout fixes for MIP watches and small field layouts.
