Timeline 2 is a highly customizable Garmin watch face built around three core features: complete theme control, a dedicated Always-On Display, and flexible data fields. It combines at-a-glance readability with efficient rendering and broad Garmin device support. Themes and Personalization Choose from nine coordinated styles: Original, Monochrome, Ocean, Forest, Sunset, Lavender, Luxury, Sport, and Alert. Themes update supported time, date, day, data, icon, goal, progress, separator, and AOD colors while preserving the original background artwork. You can also personalize supported colors individually through the Connect IQ phone settings or directly on compatible watches. Always-On Display The dedicated low-power AOD keeps the time readable while the watch is inactive. It includes theme-aware colors, 12/24-hour support, efficient partial updates, and automatic position shifting on devices that require burn-in protection. Custom Data Fields Choose from: Steps, Heart Rate, Calories, Distance, Intensity Minutes, Active Minutes, Moderate Minutes, Vigorous Minutes, Floors Climbed, Floors Descended, Device Battery Percentage, Body Battery, Stress Levels, Respiration Rate / Breaths per Minute, Pulse Ox, Atmospheric Pressure, Weather, Wind Speed, Weather + Wind, Notifications, Connection Status, Sleep Mode, Sleep, Advanced Sleep, Push Distance, Elevation, Temperature, Accelerometer, Enhanced Beat-to-Beat / B2B, Fitness Activity, Health Snapshot, Index Scale Biometrics, Motion Intensity, Move IQ. Each available data or goal slot can be reassigned without reinstalling the watch face. Compatible on-watch menus automatically hide metrics that cannot be safely provided by the device. Phone and On-Watch Settings Use the Connect IQ phone settings or compatible watch settings to change the theme, time format, data and goal metrics, and supported colors. Available color controls can include time, date, day name, data values, text labels, markers, icons, goals, progress tracks, separators, shapes, and other visual accents. Text and Icon Indicators Depending on the selected layout, data fields use clear text labels or custom icons. Supported text, marker, and icon colors can be personalized independently. Goal and Progress Graphics Track activity with visual goals such as rings, half-rings, progress lines, edge indicators, and side arcs. Supported goals can use separate start, end, and background/track colors or follow their associated data field. Time Format Choose Follow Device, 12-hour, or 24-hour time directly from the phone settings or compatible on-watch settings. Readable and Efficient High-contrast typography, responsive scaling, dark layouts, and simplified AOD rendering keep the watch face readable across supported round, square, rectangular, AMOLED, and smaller Garmin displays. Depending on the design and device, the watch face can use Garmin native fonts, scalable fonts with safe fallbacks, or optimized custom bitmap fonts. Feature availability depends on the Garmin model, screen, installed sensors, permissions, Connect IQ version, and Garmin API support.
