About

This data field was originally developed to determine if one has reached the heart rate zone criteria for getting a VO2max measurement. For this it measures the maximum continuous duration spent in heart rate zone 3 (aerobic) or higher. Depending on the activity type and the Garmin watch model, the required continuous duration in zone 3 or higher may be 10, 15 or 20 minutes in order to get a VO2max measurement. I since expanded this to be a configurable timer for target heart rate zone. # Features * Measure maximum continuous or cumulative duration spent in target heart rate zone(s) * Configurable target zone(s) * Vibrate alert when minutes goal in the target zone has been reached # FULL Version Features * Saves the duration spent in the target heart rate zone(s) to the session record in Garmin Connect * Determines heart rate recovery at the end of the activity and saves this for viewing with the activity in Garmin Connect. To use this, press STOP as usual at the end of your exercise. Rest. At the end of the 2 minutes, the watch will vibrate, indicating that the heart rate recovery has been measured. Now save the activity. View the results in Garmin Connect. For example, a heart rate recovery value of 25 means that your heart rate dropped 25bpm after 2 minutes. This value should increase as your fitness level improves. * Determines VO2max adjustment for altitude and saves this for viewing with the activity in Garmin Connect. This is useful for Garmin models that do not have the altitude acclimation feature. For example, if the VO2max adjustment value is 5%, then the VO2max reported by Garmin should be multiplied by 1.05 to estimate your VO2max at sea level. Note: Ignore this and do not adjust the VO2max reported by Garmin if your watch model already has altitude compensation. # Payment For the FULL version, use this link to pay US$1.40 via Stripe (no account required; credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay accepted). https://buy.stripe.com/dR64hV5k05kF6sweXL Alternative payment via Paypal: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/trudelta/1.40USD # Tags Heart rate zone, aerobic, heart rate recovery
