Every digit is built from segments, and the unlit ones stay faintly visible, ghosted behind the lit ones the way they are on a real LCD, so the time reads like an 80s digital watch rather than a font on a screen. A small seconds register sits beside the minutes like a chronograph sub-dial, counting live, and a minute ring fills around the outside as the hour runs down. 1.1 Accent colour and data fields are now yours to set. COLOUR Pick the accent from orange, cyan, green, amber, red, white or magenta. It carries the hours, the tick ring and the date rule. DATA FIELDS Each of the four slots along the bottom can show steps, distance, calories, battery, floors climbed, active minutes, heart rate, temperature, respiration, or nothing at all. SECONDS The seconds counter beside the minutes can be switched off. Set them in the Connect IQ app, Garmin Connect or Garmin Express. 1.1.1 Set the colour and the data fields on the watch itself. Open the watch face menu on your Garmin, pick Grid, and everything is there: accent colour, the four data slots and the seconds counter. No phone needed.
