Tidel

Tidel times your laps while you ride. The watch follows your GPS track and shows the lap time the moment you cross the track's finish line — no transponder, no phone on your body. After the session, everything is sent automatically to the Tidel app through your phone. The phone can stay in the pits: once the watch is back in range, the session uploads by itself. Heart rate and the GPS track come along, so you can review the session lap by lap in Tidel afterwards. Requires the free Tidel app on iPhone or Android, and Garmin Connect set up on the phone. The first time you use it, the watch shows a one-time code that you enter in the Tidel app to pair the two.

v1.3.1 • Pairing made obvious: the code screen now says exactly where the code goes — "Enter the code in Tidel on your phone". No GPS timer until the watch is paired, and the watch confirms "Connected" with a long buzz the moment the code is accepted. • The READY screen no longer says "Searching GPS" when the fix is already there. It shows "Ready", or "Unknown track — add the track in Tidel". • "GPS lost 0:14" while recording, instead of a screen that looks frozen. • DONE screen says "Not paired" instead of "sends automatically" when the watch is not linked yet. The queue keeps up to five heats and shows what is waiting. • Vibration on every counted lap, two buzzes on a new best time. • The finish line refreshes while the watch is READY (every 10 minutes, never during recording). • The watch model is sent with pairing, so the phone can say "fēnix 7 is connected". • Enduro: distance no longer counts through pauses and GPS gaps; lap times over an hour are shown as h:mm:ss. • Robustness: a damaged track entry no longer crashes the app, a queued session keeps its own watch id, and the watch id uses real randomness.
