Lemosho Line
· v2.02
About
Lemosho Line is a watch face built for one specific trek: the Lemosho route up Mount Kilimanjaro. Instead of a generic dial, it shows a real side-on elevation profile of the mountain with a live position dot — so at a glance you can see exactly how far you've come, how far is left, and what's still above you.
Works on both MIP and AMOLED displays — Fenix 7, Fenix 8, Epix (Gen 2), Epix Pro (Gen 2), Venu 2/3/4, MARQ (Gen 2), and touchscreen Forerunner models (265/265S/570/965/970) — with colors and units tuned automatically per device.
Press and hold anywhere on the screen to cycle through all 5 screens.
FEATURES
Main watch face
- Time and date
- Elevation profile of the Lemosho route with camp markers for each day
- A live position dot driven by your recorded Hike activity (pause it overnight, resume it each morning)
- Heart rate, SpO2, current elevation and step count
Route screen (press and hold the screen to switch)
- Today's leg: which camp you started from and where you're headed
- Remaining distance to the next camp
- Ascent and descent covered so far today
Device & body screen
- Body battery, stress level and device battery percentage
Motivation screen
- One random line shown each time you press in: a mix of edgy motivational one-liners and simple conversation-starter questions, meant to make long, quiet stretches on the trail a little less quiet
Weather screen
- A small moon-phase icon (actually calculated, not decorative — useful for judging how much of the route you'll see during a night summit push), drawn geometrically so it always matches the real current phase
- Current temperature, condition and today's forecast high/low
- Wind speed and direction, chance of precipitation
- Reads the forecast Garmin Connect Mobile already synced to your watch — no live internet connection needed on the mountain itself, just whatever your phone last picked up (trailhead, a lodge with signal, etc.)
REAL DAY VARIANTS, NOT A RESCALE
Choose 6, 7 or 8 days in the settings. Each variant is a genuinely different itinerary with its own camps — the 7-day route really does skip the Shira 1 overnight, the 6-day route also skips Karanga. This isn't a proportional stretch of the same line; the camp markers and day counter always match your actual schedule.
SETTINGS (via the Garmin Connect app)
- Number of days: 6 / 7 / 8
- Start year / month / day — used to calculate which trek day it is today, independent of GPS
- 24-hour time format toggle
- Imperial units toggle — switches distance, elevation and temperature to mi/ft/°F together (metric km/m/°C by default)
HOW POSITION TRACKING WORKS
Start a "Hike" activity on day 1 and let it run. Pause it each evening at camp, resume it the next morning. The watch face reads your live distance from that activity; if nothing is currently recording, it falls back to your last known position so the dot doesn't jump backward overnight.
This is a personal-project watch face built for one trek up one mountain — no ads, no accounts, no data leaves your device.
What's new
Version 2.01
- Fixed screen switching: cycling through screens now uses press-and-hold, which is the touch input every supported watch actually delivers to a watch face (the previous quick-tap approach only worked on a handful of very new devices)
- Fixed the day counter occasionally being off by several hours around midnight due to a timezone rounding issue
- Fixed the route screen's "DAY N: camp to camp" line running off the edge of the screen for longer camp name pairs — it now wraps cleanly and the rows below shift down to match
- Redesigned the main watch face's stats row: SpO2, steps and heart rate now sit in a fixed three-column layout with divider lines, so nothing collides at any value (a 5-digit step count, a 3-digit heart rate)
- Moved the elevation reading to its own line under the mountain profile, out of the stats row
- Replaced the ring around the edge of the main watch face with eight subtle compass dashes for a cleaner look
- Removed the day-counter dots from the main watch face for a cleaner look
- Redesigned the route, device/body, motivation and weather screens with a tactical instrument-panel look: ruled, right-aligned data rows — kept visually distinct from the main watch face
- Tightened spacing on the route screen between the day header and the stats below
